Menomonee Falls, Wis. – Roger Camping, CVLE received the 2019 Clemens-Pender Lessor of the Year Award from the National Vehicle Leasing Association (NVLA) on March 28 at the 2019 NVLA Annual Conference in Atlantic Beach, Fla.

Camping established RC Auto in 1981 in Phoenix with his mother, former State Senator Trudy Camping. Now Arizona’s oldest independent vehicle leasing company, RC Auto has represented over 18,000 clients in 48 states over the course of its 38 years in business.

NVLA President Ed Kaye presented the award and said Camping’s distinguished career and service to the community makes him an ideal recipient of the Clemens-Pender award.

“Throughout his career, Roger Camping has remained committed to RC Auto’s founding values of offering clients completely transparent service when they are leasing or buying a vehicle,” said Kaye, vice president of sales and a co-founder of New York-based Access Commercial Capital, a division of United Leasing and Finance. “Roger’s combination of success in vehicle leasing industry, longstanding participation in NVLA and legacy of community service makes him an ideal recipient of this prestigious award.”

Camping joined NVLA in 1983 and earned the Certified Vehicle Leasing Executive (CVLE) designation in 1985. He helped establish a non-profit Christian radio station in Prescott, Ariz. in 1990 and gifted the station to Arizona Christian University in Phoenix in 2014 and served as the chairman and president of the board of Radio Shine (90.9 FM) for 25 years. He has been married to his wife, Paula, for 40 years. They are proud parents of three sons and one daughter and grandparents to 13.

“What an honor to receive this prestigious award in the steps of so many great leaders from the past,” said Camping. “Over my 36 years with the NVLA, I have received so much knowledge and have given back what I learned and implemented in my business.”

The Clemens-Pender Lessor of the Year Award was founded in 1977 and is the highest honor to be awarded by NVLA. The award was established to memorialize two pioneers of the vehicle leasing industry, Frank Pender and Jack Clemens, who were dedicated, hard-working vehicle lessors who exemplified the highest standards of professional conduct. Frank Pender and Jack Clemens were instrumental in developing the leasing organizations in California that formed the early roots of NVLA.

Founded in 1968, NVLA provides educational opportunities, promotes responsible legislation and communicates with members regarding developments and trends in vehicle leasing. NVLA promotes the leasing concept while encouraging the highest ethical and professional standards. Membership is made up of independent leasing companies, automobile dealerships, banks, credit unions and suppliers of goods and services to lessors.
